DJ Ready Cee Teams Up With We Build Hits Radio

Name: DJ Ready Cee
Vital Statistics: Classed as a Hip Hop legend, and has a network larger than most companys can boast, not bad for just one man, dont you agree?

For over 20 years, two turntables have been the centerpoint of DJ READY CEE’s life. Ready Cee was raised on Hiphop during a time when skills outlined a DJ’s acceptance rather than his ability to follow another’s formula. Ready Cee started DJing in Texas during the early 80’s, but the early 90’s began his transition from serious hobby to certain profession. His work would be awarded in 1994 when he received the ‘Best Hiphop DJ 1994′ plaque from The Houston Press Newspaper’s ‘Best Of The Best’ awards that took place that year. Ready Cee also began to delve into music production (a natural progression for a Hiphop DJ) and performing live with many local artists in Houston and hosting Hiphop events.

Ready Cee first appeared on vinyl with the release of ‘Black Youth’, an independent album by producer Sean Blaze who has since gone on to produce music for the likes of 50 Cent, Young Buck and Chamillionaire. In 2001 Ready Cee’s production would appear on the debut album of rapper El Gant and has since produced various singles and underground cuts for him and others. Ready Cee has also developed a strong hold within the mixtape game by releasing over 100 titles including the well-known Justo’s Revolution CD where he teamed up with DJ Mixx and the legendary Marley Marl & Pete Rock.

In 1998, Ready Cee along with DJ Yooter and DJ Snuu created The Underground Lockdown radio show on New York City’s WHUT 91.9FM. The show was a New York City sensation that dominated the Hiphop airwaves every Saturday night until the DJs parted ways and Ready Cee continued the show on his own for nearly 8 years. With guests that included the likes of Kool Herc, Grand Master Caz, Craig G, Tony Touch, The Boot Camp Clik, Saigon, Lord Tariq, Shyheim, Nice & Smooth, Joel Ortiz, Percee P, Show & AG, Black Sheep and many others, THE READY CEE SHOW became the icon of underground Hiphop radio in New York City and the catalyst that landed underground Hiphop on every night of programming on 91.9FM. The Ready Cee Show continues today as a weekly podcast on iTunes & thereadyceeshow.com and his story continues to grow with every broadcast…
