Every now & again there is a gem that is overlooked. J.W. is a singer/songwriter who is a diamond in the rough that is ready to be exposed. This talented young man has been blazing trails since the age of 15.
Influenced by artist like Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Usher, New Edition and Stevie Wonder, J developed a love for music. While a freshman in high school, J was asked to write & sing a hook for a local Louisiana rapper. The success of the song catapulted J.W. into the limelight and was the start of his professional career as a recording artist.
J in 6 years has accomplished winning numerous talent showcases to opening up for major artists to even winning a national award from ASCAP. In 2006, J.W. was named the Male R&B Singer/Songwriter of the Year by the Los Angeles Music Awards. In addition to music J. has also been on television shows like Half and Half (UPN), Drake & Josh (Nickelodeon) and in the movie, Dreamgirls. J.W. is a multi-talented artist who is destined for success & greatness. B.E.T. states, “J.W. is a hot new artist to watch out for in 2007” and MTV2 labels “J.W. an artist on the rise”.
